Harriet Ibbett

I am an interdisciplinary conservation scientist with a specific interest in understanding the human behaviour that drive biodiversity loss. To date, much of my research has involved using novel and experimental approaches to answer complex questions regarding wildlife crime and conservation rule breaking. Prior to starting my PhD, I worked for three years as a Research Assistant at the University of Oxford’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Conservation Science. I conducted extensive field research in Cambodia to assess the effect of search-effort on the dectectability of snared by ranger patrols, and measured hunting prevalence amongst local communities. My experience there set me up perfectly for my PhD with Freya St John & Julia Jones which started in February 2019.
